Dr Donna Reid qualified from the Birmingham Clinical Psychology Doctorate in 2010 and has been employed by Headwise since then. Her main clinical interests are clinical neuropsychology, post traumatic stress disorder and eating disorders. Therapeutically, Donna has a particular interest in cognitive behaviour therapy, rational emotive behavioural therapy and mindfulness. During her Doctorate training, Donna’s specialist placement was in neuropsychology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where she worked with outpatients in differential diagnosis and with the military inpatients, focusing on TBI.
Donna’s clinical research has focussed on executive functioning in children with neurodevelopmental disorders. She has several areas of research interest, including head injury and neuropsychological outcome, and the way technological advances can help with neurorehabilitation. In addition, Donna worked as a part-time lecturer in social psychology at the University of Plymouth whilst studying for her PhD.
